Ion Nichifor
Ion began his martial arts training at Bushin Academy in 2010 and is a Jeff Curran/Pedro Sauer/Bushin Black Belt. His engineering mind has helped him to become very technical and tactical in his approach to training and teaching. He shares his love for Jiu-Jitsu with his kids and is an instructor for kids and adult classes.
Joe Legaspi
Joe has dedicated a lifetime to serving his country in multiple capacities, and has been an avid life-long martial artist. Joe’s dedication and fervor in serving our Lord, his family, the Bushin family, and our local communities is unparalleled. He is blessed to be able to share the mats with his wife Lisa, their sons, and their grandchildren. Joe can be found in the kid’s classes, adult classes, Foundations Class, and in the Women’s JJ classes.
Craig Rubenstein
Craig has been serving our country in the US Army for close to 40 years, and he has been training in martial arts for most of his life. He has been training in BJJ for 20+ years and has a deep understanding of both competition training and self-defense training.

Ryan Mutter
Ryan began his training at Bushin Martial Arts Academy in 2012. Ryan is a life-long Va local, a family man, and is a mortgage professional when he’s not on the mat. Ryan has been a team sports athlete, coach, and supporter throughout his life, and thus, brings a unique ability to coach, teach, and to motivate students.
